We are sad to note that

Charles Trotter, a Nashville Kennel Club Lifetime Member and Past President passed away in early June.  He was extremely active in the club until he and his wife, equally Legendary AKC Judge

Pat Trotter moved to California about 14 years ago.

According to Showsight Magazine ...

"SHOWSIGHT joins with the entire community of purebred dog fanciers to celebrate the life of Charles “Chuck” Trotter who passed away in his sleep on

June 4, 2023 at the age of 90.

An AKC all-breed judge and noted expert on canine structure and movement, “Chuck” began breeding and showing Afghan Hounds in the late 1950s under the Silverstone prefix. He also raised German Shepherd Dogs and became an all-breed professional handler. He turned to judging in 1980 and judged the Working Group at Westminster Kennel Club in 1997. Chuck was a lifetime member of the Nashville Kennel Club.

In Who’s Who in Dogs,

Connie Vanacore noted Chuck’s interest in “down-home Southern” cooking, fishing and hunting as well as boating and tour biking on his Harley.

Chuck is survived by his wife,

AKC Judge and author

Pat Craige Trotter, son Chuck Jr., daughter Rebecca Myrick, grandsons Kevin and Kyle, and three great-grandchildren. Celebrations of Chuck’s life will be held for family and friends in Nashville, Tennessee, and Carmel, California, at future dates to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, his family request donations be made to

Take the Lead."
